Landing Zone & Migration Ready: prepare a first migration

An application needs to move onto a Cloud foundation, but its access, networking and cutover conditions have not been verified.

Bring governed foundation prerequisites together around a pilot application and prepare a migration that can be decided and tested.

Services

When to engage?

The path to the target remains unclear

Accounts and policies exist, but DNS, private access or identities still prevent the pilot application from reaching the foundation.

An exception risks becoming the standard

Networking, security and deployment conventions need to distinguish reusable decisions from pilot-specific constraints.

A cutover approaches without enough evidence

Connectivity, backups, monitoring and recovery require named owners and tests before a migration window.

A three-step engagement

  1. 01

    Define the pilot

I agree the pilot application and target platform with your teams, then identify dependencies and owners of each validation.

  2. 02

    Prepare foundations

I document the required IAM, networking and governance conventions; I test only in an authorized environment.

  3. 03

    Validate prerequisites

I record feasible tests and prepare a cutover and rollback plan for approval.

What you receive

  • Target foundation dossierPilot overview, access and networking conventions, expected controls and open decisions.
  • Migration prerequisite registerDependencies, evidence needed and owners of tests before moving to the target.
  • Pilot and cutover planTests, acceptance criteria, approvers and rollback; the migration itself requires a separate mandate.

Scope and prerequisites

Scope and prerequisites. Agreed target platform and pilot application, known dependencies, authorized access and IAM, networking, security and operations contacts.

Preparation boundaries. No mass migration, data transfer or live cutover included. Production changes require approval, tests, a window and rollback.
