Cloud architecture and transformation

Design governed, connected Cloud foundations that can evolve without turning every new project into an exception.

Effective architecture connects networking, identity, ownership and recovery. AKITA clarifies Azure, AWS and GCP choices without promising false portability between them; a review of a specific environment is described under related services.

YOUR CONTEXT

When this expertise matters

Foundations become fragmented

Subscriptions, accounts and projects appear without shared conventions. Roles, routes and logs diverge, so every application needs an exception. The goal is to define ownership boundaries precise enough to govern change yet flexible enough for teams to work.

Private connectivity breaks a flow

An application works from a bastion but fails from a remote network or deployment agent. A private endpoint changes DNS resolution, egress paths and sometimes service-level rules. Topology must reflect the actual origins that use it.

Migration without credible recovery

Replicating a machine does not restore a corrupted database or an external dependency. A cutover requires known flows, data synchronization, downtime windows and rollback. RTO and RPO must be tested end to end, not assumed from an enabled feature.

THREE PILLARS

Capabilities brought to bear

Landing zones and governance

Structure management groups, subscriptions, identities, Azure Policy and logging around team responsibilities. Apply comparable traceability on AWS or GCP without assuming identical networking or IAM. Versioned Terraform modules make standards reviewable and exceptions explicit.

Private, Hub & Spoke and hybrid networking

Map application spokes, shared hub services and VPN or ExpressRoute traffic in both directions. Because Azure peering is not transitive, inspect routing tables, inspection points and DNS end to end. Test Private Link and Private DNS from each VNet and connected site.

Migration, resilience and recovery

Map data and dependencies before choosing rehosting, redesign or replacement. Group migrations by cutover capacity and operating ownership. Compare zones, regions and independent backups against criticality, then rehearse a restore that includes data, secrets and networking.

TECHNICAL DECISIONS

Trade-offs that shape the solution

Private Link does not disable public access by itself

A private endpoint adds an IP in the VNet, but the service may still be publicly reachable. Check public access, firewalls, the DNS zones linked to the right networks and resolution from actual origins rather than assuming protection.

Hub & Spoke is not always necessary

Central inspection and hybrid connectivity may justify routing complexity. For a small scope, a simpler network can be more reliable and less expensive. Follow expected traffic flows rather than imposing a topology first.

Rehost or modernize: preserve a fallback

Compare change effort, application dependencies and target operating cost. Define cutover and rollback criteria before migration and test recovery against RTO/RPO; multi-cloud or replication alone cannot guarantee continuity.
